Outstanding Aggie Journalists celebrated at Hall of Honor induction

The 2026 FJSA Hall of Honor events brought to life the career highlights of Felix McKnight '32, Richard Oliver '81 and Fernando Palomo '95.

From the awesome responsibility McKnight had of covering the Kennedy assassination, to Palomo believing in himself when an opportunity to jump to ESPN arose, to Oliver’s gift for succeeding in evolving media roles, being open to face challenges was a unifying theme.

In addition to the Hall of Honor ceremony, Oliver and Palomo spoke to students at a panel moderated by FJSA President Matthew Watkins ‘07.

And FJSA facilitated speakers for journalism classes. Palomo spoke with students in the department’s TV production class, and FJSA board member Megan Rodriguez ‘19, City Hall reporter at the San Antonio Express-News, spoke to the advanced media writing class.
